This week's topic focused on the hidden relationship between mathematics and art. I have taken a few art classes in my life and many math classes in my academic career, but I never realized that there was a connection between the two. At first glance of any type of artwork, you don't think about math but you either think how pretty the art piece is or question how the piece is even considered art.

Hi Josh, I found your post to be very interesting. I like how you were able to tie the golden ratio into all aspects of life around us. I specifically liked how you used the human body for an example of the golden ratio. After reading your post and watching lectures this week, I feel that I am now totally aware of how math plays a big role in our everyday lives.
ReplyDeleteYour post was very nice. I think you explain very well how we don't realize how math is used in art right away. Focusing on the golden ratio was a good call. What better way to explain math in art. I think your reference to you being in salt lake city really ties in your post,
